Course Overview:
First aid is the immediate assistance or treatment provided at the scene of an accident to individuals who are injured or suddenly taken ill, prior to the arrival of an ambulance. The first-aid provider must quickly and calmly assess the situation, handle life-threatening conditions while ensuring their own safety, and seek medical aid by calling an ambulance if the injury or illness is serious.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) involves procedures designed to maintain oxygenation and circulation during cardiac arrest. There are two types of personnel capable of performing CPR in emergency situations.
This training ensures learners can recognize and respond to various emergencies effectively. They will gain the skills to assist during workplace emergencies, understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider, and accurately assess incidents. Additionally, they will learn how to care for non-responsive victims who are breathing normally, as well as those who are not. The course covers recognizing and assisting choking casualties, managing wounds and bleeding, and dealing with minor injuries. Overall, it provides comprehensive knowledge on handling a variety of emergency situations.
